It is a type of fishing using a special type of rod and reel called a fly rod and fly reel. They are special because they are capable of casting tiny, very light weight lures called flies a long way. The lures actually weigh less than the fishing line – any other type of reel cannot do this. Fly fishing is some of the most challenging and rewarding fishing you can do – be patient with yourself while you learn and you’ll love it. Have fun!

FLy fishing, the line takes the lure out. The line is weighted in grains. The line types are : weight forward (wf), level, double taper (dt). and sinking line (s). It will say on the box what type the line is. There should be a label in the box to put on the reel.
For me the best line is the weight forward line. In spin casting, the lure takes the line out.
