Hey, I’m new to fly fishing and I’m trying to order some wooly buggers. I have a 9 FT 7 weight rod and reel outfit and I was wondering what size hooks I need. I want a size that i can use both on Trout and Largemouth Bass.. Thanks in advance.

I agree the art of fly fishing for any fish is more about the whole package, getting outdoors, spending time with friends, and catching fish is what’s it all about.

thank you for a peaceful video. that is the truth about fly fishing.

Nice flies bro-good technique. Looks like a blast and you hit it on the head with the relaxing part—nothin’ better.

Good video John. I just subscribed to your channel.

I’d be surprised if there’s ANYTHING you could throw that they wouldn’t hit if it’s moving!

I would NOT use a strike indicator. I nearly caught pickerel that were hanging onto a bobber while spin fishing.

If it moves a pickerel will hit it. That said, I’d bet a wooly ****** or a muddler would tear’em up.

    not really

They’re not even comparable. Fly fishing is SOOO much more than just setting the hook on a fish.

Oh yeah i’m sure thats the way it is. I would get nervous too. Didn’t mean anything derogatory by it. Great vid by the way.

I kid around with John (the guy casting) a lot about his casting in this video. He’s normally a very good caster, but when the tapes rolling, it’s much different. This was all filmed in one day, lots of pressure to catch a fish while the film is rolling :) . You feel like you need to be perfect, instead of being just being relaxed and natural.

  14. DudeMan202028096 says:

He’s a great fisherman and fly tier, but his cast could use a lot of work.

  15. tcorvette08 says:

wow i fell like im watching tv not the regular crappy youtube vids

  16. iampieforlife says:

Fly fishing is so much better than normal fishing.

  17. lepomis1 says:

I agree with atstsu and hatterasdream, he is not a good caster. at about 1:40 into the video you see him dumping his back cast. I would be afraid to be in the same boat with him.

  18. Stoerangler says:
