some advice…not good idea to wear white shirt when flyfishing for brown trout..norr fish downstream..best to cast upstream as trout face upstream and big, wary natural browns spook very easy.

@kingtroutfisher It really depends on where you are and what the conditions are like. Search for “fly fishing lesson 15″. Click on the video by booniecat and watch parts 15-21. It will tell you all about flies.

I have a question… why do my “dry” flies sink? My “floating line came with a darker colored 6 or 7 feet end to it that seems to sink and drag my fly under water. If this is WHY my flies are sinking is it ok to cut off the darker line and tie my lead to the yellow line that actually floats?

have you ever tried foam spiders for trout…i dont have trout where im from, but i have caught bluegill, bass, crappie, redear sunfish, and pumpkinseed on them…i tie them myself usually…takes about a minute….i “invent” new flies all the time..i made a fly out of tan thread and hairs ear dubbing..on a scud hook,it looks like a beemoth,or some kind of larvae…works well from mid March-early May

  22. fishnkid1923 says:

they were topwater strikes so im guessing it was a dry fly

  23. nobull60 says:

There definately is a skill to cast with such finesse. I liked the roll cast up stream. Nice vid. Thanks for making it.
