that fish is tiny u should have kept that fish
@wossyboyNOT he caught it he did just fine, bill dance
uhm…your fucking stupid
Dude your a fucking retard there is no way that fish lived after you released it. You cant pull fish out of the water if your releasing them, especially trout. Plus you can never ever gill any fish. Your just asking to kill a fish by doing that its way to stressful on them and they wont survive. Learn proper catch and release methods and stop killing fish!
lake trout arent as durable as one might think either. i caught a 42″ in Point Lake, N.W.T. it was a monster and we were in a fuckin CANOE. anyhow. eating it didnt make sense and keeping it wasnt an option, i tried reviving it for atleast a half hour and finally it looked like she might go, but it didnt. i watched it sink belly up in about 75 ft of water
idiot doesnt know how to fish
thats a nice 8-10 pounder man..good catch
@ummagnu8 man lakers grow 1-1 1/2 pounds a year..i caught a ten pounder today and left fin wat chpped meaning it was a stocker from 1999…i have the stock sheets for my area being zone 15.anyways mnr says a pound a year.ive seen their nets and how they determine the lake trout’s sizes from lake to lake.
Да подтяни ты фрикцион немного! Вот дебилы эти америкосы…
Nice lake trout!! i love trout fishing!
a so called 30 year old lake trout is like your 90 year old grandma at a nursing home… it cant reproduce anymore. and soon enough its gunna die of old age..
trout reach sexual maturity at age approx. 12-13…. this blog has gone to hell.
you think you know everything dont ya you stuid canadian…. a fish is a fish they reproduce… a 30 year old fish wont be reproducing anymore smart one
do you notice the question “catch and release or supper?” man, these guide services need to supply clients with regulation guides! cant believe i heard that! what if the guys had been on a self guided trip? believe me, houseboat adventures is not known for its stellar record of lake preservation…. a professional guide sevice should have professional tools – e.g. lip gripper! its their livelihood! but most fisherman think “theres lots of fish, fish are tough, no way that caused damage etc etc”
actually live in kenora. best thing is get a lip gripper. pulling the “gill plate” is not a good idea – destroy connective tissue. tree hugger? trout are one of the slowest growing fish in the lake – less than 1 inch per year. that fish was roughly 30 years old! the trout fishery must be protected, part of the reason zone 5 regulations for area between ptmarigan and whitefish bay have changed. gills and fins freeze in minutes; obviously midlake hump – mid-late winter but still cold.
djsike is correct, and thanks to you idiotsmaking yourself look stupid by cussing me out. Honest fly fisherman are gentleman, and ladies. You few are trolls. You can “touch” the gill plate, I never said you’re supposed to grab it, and do anything with it. You idiots need to learn to read. As for knowing they did not die, I infact do. I not only have private plces to fish, but I work at a hatchery. I am also a fly fisherman, spinning rod fisherman, and a deep sea fisherman.
Its not “by the gills”, its the gill plate. Same way you would grab a pike..muskie…salmon etc. This isnt some palmable brook trout, this is a massive fish. Gill plate doesnt hurt them.
@ummagnu8 take your tree huggin ***** ass somewhere some where else what do you expect you fuckin pansy the fish wasnt even on ice that long and btw your a piece of ****.. i bet you dont even know what a lake trout is.
its sad to say, but even the “pros” on television don’t seem to know how to handle a fish properly. The best thing to do is to support the head and the tail. Holding it by the underneath part of the gill covering is a bad idea. Also, allowing the fish to hit the snow is a bad idea – destroys protective slim layer. Finally, one of the worst offenders on T.V is Henry Waszczuk: E.g. “don’t move the fish back and forth, side to side is better”…idiot
@xxxxdukexxxx
Your a fucking idiot. Since when do flyfishermen touch gills. Number one rule is don’t touch gills like the man said. I’ve flyfished my entire life and was taught from a really young age not to.
Stick to ************ you retard.
@xxxxdukexxxx so you touch the gills and track the fish for the next few weeks and makes sure it doesn’t die?
check the Statistics Data of this video and see that one of my videos brought in over 400 views for this video ahhaahhaa nice fish guys
Never seen this sort of fishing before, really amazing. Guessing fly fishing in a little hole is out of the question
