@brianmoc still id never do this to my gears)) I mean I love to abuse it with a big fish and all but Id never put my reell (even rods) in a salt water… ))

    Good vid. anyway!

@VIDEOZAL Its a Van Staal sealed reel, good for about 1 year (220 days in a season) doing what you see in these videos. At years end you send it back to the company for repair cleaning; cost 55$+shipping. All reels have its braking point. A Van Staal reel could last about 100 days doing everything you see here. Nevertheless, I catch big fish with mine so they brake a little faster cost more to repair; that’s what Van Staal tells me. LOL. This reel is on its last legs one is out for repair!

    have a Q.
how often do you buy a new reel? LOL
I guess every 3-4 trips? LOL again

  4. brianmoc says:

@bmpembroke Its worth it if you fish in saltwater. I would have a 200 but this right reels left!

  5. bmpembroke says:

@brianmoc I’m going to pick up my new VS either today or sometime this weekend. On the rocks btw the 150 and 200.

  6. brianmoc says:

@bmpembroke No 200 Van Staal does not make a 200L !!!!! We are both right handed but reel left. how freaky but true. :) as for throwing? 50 yards?

  7. bmpembroke says:

no vs200 on the 10fts? obviously the 150 was doing the trick; how far would you say you guys were throwing?

smack-it is an amazing lure btw… plenty of noise from that suckaaah

@dfehr401 I was using a 10 foot St Croix pole and J was using a 10′ 6″ St Croix. you could have gotten away with a 9 foot but in the fall its best to have a 10 foot pole.

  15. dfehr401 says:
