Beside skiing and mountain biking, Whistler actually offers some excellent trout fishing. In this video blog, we visit Alta Lake just outside of Whistler Village. Our target species are rainbow trout and cutthroat trout. June 18th to 20th is BC Family Fishing Weekend. During that weekend, you can fish in lakes and rivers with a free freshwater fishing licence. hey im going to maggievallie, north carolina in the winter and i just want to know what flies you think would work good on the trout there. thanks alot
@sawrestler1313 Thanks a lot man, i know all about the fly part, its just buying them and knowing where the best spot to use them. Where i live the streams are not big but not small…there inbetween, and its hard fly fishing because theres so many tree’s hanging over the water
@sawrestler1313 The best way to get started is by visiting a local flyfishing shop, my advice wouldn’t be too applicable compared to local knowledge. You’ll need some flies that resemble insects found in the creeks where you plan to fish. To figure out what you need, you can observe what insects are hatching from the creeks. Good luck.
Hey rod nice video man, I just bought myself a fly rod a few days ago because i always wanted one but im not too sure on how to really use the actually rod and what to use for my bait? I live in pennsylvania and i always go crick fishing so what should i use for crick fishing in pennsylvania? please comment back
Good video, keep up the good work man!
Many thanks,
nice trouts!
@RetardWarrior Those are fly rods built from Rainshadow blanks.
What kind of rod’s You used????
great info video hope to make one like that myself keep up the great vids tight lines rod
@draywanda Yep, that’s why we enjoy going to that lake regularly.
@Tomaszeks Thanks. The only regulations implemented at this lake are bait ban and catch release, so you can certainly fish with a spinning outfit. We do that from time to time, either trolling a lure or casting and retrieving. Occasionally we also float fish with a fly.
Good job, finally some bigger fish! Can you fish there using other techniques (spinning, float) or is it fly fishing only? I think that your show is very honest.
Hard to watch th’ fishin’, with the scenery in th’ background!
Great vid.
That looks like a lot of fun!
