what size rod, line, and leader would you use for this I usually fish for trout and have set ups for 5 and 6 but am having trouble deciding on what to use for pike or larger bass. any advice also any advice on a fly for the north mid west like minnesota great video

Fly fishing for pike is amazing, one of my absolute favourite fishing technique. We’re fly fishing for northern pike here in Swedish Lapland every spring (middle of May to the end if June) and autumn. The biggest Ive go so far is 111 cm long.
Were using big flies thats 10-15 cm long.

I live in alaska and we have a huge northern pike problem. they are an illegally introduced species to our lakes. please dont catch and release. If you catch then slit their throats. if you don’t want to keep them there are homeless shelters here that would love them donated. these fish are taking over our lakes in alaska. kill em all (in alaska). Just this guys opinion.
