Fly Fishing Iceland monster seatrout

SiggiIce asked:

Video from Varma river in Iceland. Big seatrout.Growth is rapid in the sea. Many fish attain body weights from 0.5-1.5 kg within their first year. Older fish that have been longer at sea may attain weights up to 5-10kg. Varma runs through the small town of Hveragerdi. Varma can be translated as “Varm river” because there are many hot springs in Hveragerdi and the water from some of them runs in to the river. You could almost take a bath in the water where these fishes where caught.

The sea trout in Rio grande, tierra del fuego is from the north Atlantic rivers. The fishes were moved in milk container´s with mos and water. 60000 survived the trip. They came from England. The fishes were released in the rivers Candelaria and MacLennan, but there was not enough food there so they went to the sea. And when they came back they were big. Rio grande is 150 km long and Varmá is 10 km and very narrow. They started fishing there 1935 and someday I hope I can fish there.

This a contaminated river after a bad chlorine accident which almost killed all aquatic life in the river. I wouldn´t fish there.

  14. egillfame says:

Sælir ekki getur þú sagt mér á hvaða tíma þetta er sem að þið eruð að veiða þarna. Mig nefnilega langar að fara aftur lenti á slæmum túr síðast en langar að prufa aftur og fá góða tímasetningu ef þú gæti gefið mér hint

    Takk Egill Örn
