“fishing wise” you get in 6 days of guided fishing. The trip is 9 days and 8 nights. You depart Miami on a Friday and return on a Saturday.

Its a freekin blast! Lets go!

My Amazon trip in October 2010 is “all inclusive” and originates in Miami, FL. All you need to do is get to Miami.

Included in the $3,595 is your International airfare from Miami to Manaus. 7 nights on the Amazon Prince yacht and the last night at the Tropical hotel in Manaus. All of your meals on the boat are included in the price of the trip as is a full liquor bar and domestic beers.

You receive great service…eat and drink like a king and have comfortable accommodations all week long.

  9. frooto2 says:

are you using top water lures?

  10. smcdonald86 says:

They are all tucunare’ or as we call them in the states….

    “peacock bass”

  11. foketesz says:

The fish at around 3.00 is a tucunare (I’m pretty sure). Those babies will break a #10 fly rod if not battled properly. Te first run is like an F15 on afterburner

Peacock bass are damn powerful man

  13. smcdonald86 says:

No. they are a tropical fish from the Amazon regions of South America. We have butterfly peacocks here in South Florida that are a lot of fun to catch but are not as big as the pacas.

  14. KAUpitcher123 says:

can peacock bass be found up north?

  15. bigredfucker says:

that guy must kick and fight like hell

  16. smcdonald86 says:

Ha, ha…thats cool man! The reason that the peacocks do not get as big here in South Florida is that they are a different species than the ones that get 20+ in the Amazon. We have butterfly peacocks here in the states. The ones that get really big are the “cichla temensis” or speckled / 3 barred peacocks. They grow in excess of 40 inches and 30 pounds!! That said YES they eat much more aggressive baits in the rivers of South America like the piranah etc…Plain and simple they are awesome fish!

Nice video you got there. You are like a celebrity here in Miami. I have a question. Why don’t they get as big here? Is it because we do not let them or because of superior prey available to them in the Amazon? I got some great vids myself of Miami peas, check them out. Sweet vid. 5*

  18. smcdonald86 says:

Yep that last fish was 23 pounds!
